art thoughts

I don’t know how to feel accomplished when it comes to my own work. I always want things to be in their most completest form and I don’t know how to feel achievement through works in progress. Constant criticism becomes crucial to me but it also becomes the bane of my existence. If someone has something to add or correct or say, I immediately feel divorced from the current state of a project. I feed off the things people say about my work and always need and want to hear more.

I am so overwhelmed all the time.

I went to a print making show tonight that featured work by some of my amazing and talented friends. It simultaneously motivated, inspired and saddened me. Being surrounded by such amazing and gifted people is hard but I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
